Become a birth or postpartum doula
Support the couple through birth and then a smooth transition into parenthood
Becoming a birth and/or a postpartum doula is a wonderful, meaningful career. As a birth doula, you will provide physical, emotional and informational support to mothers and their partners during the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period. You will learn the importance of emotional support, hands-on comfort measures, common interventions used, supporting the mother and partner during C-Birth, postpartum issues, and breastfeeding.
Kathy Stewart will bring her knowledge from working as a certified pediatric nurse for 35 years, an IBCLC, a birth and postpartum certified DONA doula and trainer. She has been training doulas since 2002 in 10 different US states and two European countries (Germany and England).
Her workshops are very interactive, personable, fun, educational and leads to personal growth. You will be supported from her while you are completing your certifications.
Certifications will be obtained through DONA International. You can visit dona.org to review all the requirements for becoming a certified birth and postpartum doula.
